Basic Cooking 101 Series
Wednesday’s  6:30pm to 9:30pm
The Basic Cooking Series is for beginning cooks and
those who may have some training but would like to
learn skills and techniques to of professional Chefs.

March 17th  *Intro to Basic Cooking 101      $35
This class will cover kitchen safety, sanitation, kitchen equipment,
stocking and managing supplies. Reading recipes and measuring and
basic chopping and cutting
* this class is a prerequisite for this series
March 24th Soups & Stocks                                $45
Basic for many dishes start with “stock” or broth. You will learn to make
rich stocks and to make delicious soups from scratch
March 31st Sauté & Pan Fry                               $45
Using vegetable and meats this class will give you the opportunity to
learn professional sauté and pan frying skills for making the prefect dish
without using too much oil or fat
April 7th Roasting & Stewing                              $45
The art of roasting meats will be explored and the opportunity to make a
restaurant quality roasted chicken. Learn the trick of stew meats to bring
out the flavor without over cooking
April 21st Baking Pies & Quick Breads           $45
Basic baking skills will be discussed. Make the prefect pie crust and
filing. Learn to make Quick breads to enjoy and take home
April 28th Eggs and Brunch Dishes                  $45
Making the prefect fried egg, omelet or scrambled egg will be
demonstrated. Learn to make quiches and other delicious brunch foods
May 5th Salads and Sides Dishes                      $45
This class you will learn to make several different rice, potato, couscous,
vegetable dishes and salads to complement to your meals.
May 12th Desserts                                                  $45
Specialty desserts will be demonstrated and you will learn to make
cream puffs, brownies, volcano cake and more
May 19th Graduation Dinner                               $35
To honor your new cooking expertise we will make a five course dinner
which the class will prepare and enjoy together using the skills you have
learned

**KITCHEN BASICS                                $35
This class is for everyone who wants to learn the basics of meal planning
and some beginning cooking techniques. Chef Charles offers this class
monthly so he can share his knowledge and expertise with Students
wanting to cook at home and in our commercial kitchen. He will cover:
food safety and sanitation, kitchen tools, equipment and how to buy
them. Measuring, basic chopping skills, reading recipes, stocking and
shopping for your home kitchen to be able to cook for your friends and
family. You will leave this classes with several resources and recipes to
feel confident in taking more cooking classes that you understand the
basic terminology and techniques for cooking. All Classes at  the

Learn to make this Italian Specialty using pizza dough, pasta, & other

Mastering Mexican Favorites Series
Thursday’s 6:30pm to 9:30pm
We make Mexican favorite each week making and
tasting different dishes getting familiar with how some
of our favorite Mexican foods are prepared.

May 6th  We will make traditional cheese and chicken Enchiladas,
beef chili, Spanish rice, black beans, pico de gallo
May 13th  Learn how to make Carne and Pollo Asada, guacamole
and red and green  salsas
May 20th Make fresh corn tortillas for our beef and chicken tacos
and fresh torta

*Classic French Dishes Cooking Series
Wednesday’s 6:30pm – 9:30pm
These four classes give  student the French cooking
experience. Each week we will make and taste
different French food from different regions of France.
This is a great class series for couples and friends to
enjoy together.

Knife Skills and Garnishing
This class is very popular so we offer it monthly. You
will learn how to buy, care and keep knives in addition
to learning paring and chopping techniques and how to
make beautiful vegetable trays like a professional.

Tamale Classes @
Poway Adult School              
Learn the time honored Christmas tradition of tamales.
Tamales have been a favorite for years, now you will learn
the whole process so you and your families can enjoy tamales
year around.  Join us as we make chicken tamales in this
class. Each student will take home one dozen tamales.

Monthly Cooking Co-op at the Kitchen
Join us on the first Thursday of each month to learn some  
cooking techniques from Chef Charles and make cook four
different entrees  with side dishes and vegetables(four
servings of each) to take home and reheat or freeze. We will
make one delicious dessert and a gourmet salad all for $150!
Invite a friend or make some new one as you have fun in the
Kitchen each month.

Singles Friday Night Cooking Club
4TH FRIDAY OF THE MONTH
7:00PM TO 9:00PM
Come on! Get out there and cook with us!  We are having our
first Singles Cooking Club Event  March
26th. We hope you
will join us for the fun. Bring a friend if you like or come and
meet new friends as we cook and eat a variety of different
foods. Bring an apron if you have one and learn from an
expert tips and tricks for cooking for yourself or to impress
your friends.

Kids Cooking Club - Kids ages 7-14
Enjoy Saturday Mornings 9 to 11am on the 2nd  
Saturday of each month











Our Kids Cooking Club has been developed to inspire, excite
and feed the curiosity of kids today to try new foods and
develop basic kitchen knowledge. They will be introduced to
cooking vocabulary and techniques, tools and utensils, basics
of etiquette, nutrition, safety, kitchen math and new foods!
Each month in our Kids Cooking Club will make something fun
to eat, take home the leftovers and the recipes to share.
$30 pp or bring a friend or two and you each get a $5
discount!

March 18th - Kids learn to chopping and paring skills making
a delicious chicken soup and salad.
April 10th -Kids Club make homemade pasta and learn to
make a delicious red sauce.
May 8th - Mother's Day Brunch! Delight Mom with
homemade Quiche and breakfast bread.
June 12th - Make Dad a treat for Father Day! Kids learn
some basic grilling techniques and bring home brownies
July 10th - Kids will make some Summer favorites,
homemade ice cream and cherry pie
August 14th - Summer fun continues with homemade frozen
desserts, yummy salads and dips
International Cooking Club
3RD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH
6:30PM TO 9:30PM

You won’t want to miss our newest group the International
Cooking Club were the 3rd Friday of each month starting in
April we will have a guest Chef each month from different
countries come to share with us the cooking methods and
flavors of his/her homeland. We will have the opportunity to
taste and make many different dishes from all over the
world. Our guest Chef will share how to buy specialty items
for the dishes that are being prepared and take home recipes
to try these different cuisines at home.
